PDI/BK-02-069/2004 12 November, 2004 To : President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re.: Clarifications on company's performances in the third quarter and nine-month of 2004 Attached are a copy each of Thai and English version of the unaudited interim financial statements (both consolidated and on the company only) of Padaeng Industry Public Company Limited for the third quarter and nine-month period ended 30 September 2004 together with clarifications on the company's performances during the said periods. The company's total sales volume increased by 3.3% during the 9-month period, to 86,034 metric tons and the revenues from sales and services was Bt4,256.1m a 20.8% increase from the same period of 2003. The company earned a net profit of Bt197.8m which results from the increase in average LME zinc price to 1,026 USD per metric ton, a 29% increase from the same period last year. With these factors in mind, the company reported as follows: From the company's statement of income on Equity Method, the company's sales revenues and services was Bt1,425.4m which increased from the same quarter of year 2003 by Bt179.5m or a 14.4% increase. There was a net profit of Bt69.2m or a net profit per share of Bt0.31 compared to a net profit per share of Bt0.06 in the same period of year 2003. From the company's consolidated statement of income, total sales from revenues and services was Bt1,428.2m which increased by Bt180.8m or a 14.5% increase from the same quarter of last year. There was a net profit of Bt67.4m or a net profit per share of Bt0.30 compared to a net profit per share of Bt0.06 in the same period of year 2003. From the statement of income (Equity Method) for the nine-month period, the company's total sales from revenues and services was Bt4248.8m which increased from the same period of year 2003 by Bt732.5m or a 20.8% increase. There was a net profit of Bt201.4m or a net profit per share of Bt0.89 compared to a net profit per share of Bt0.04 in the same period of year 2003. From the company's consolidated statement of income, total sales from revenues and services was Bt4,256.1m which increased from the same period of last year by Bt733.4m or a 20.8% increase. There was a net profit of Bt197.8m or a net profit per share of Bt0.88 compared to a net profit per share of Bt0.03 in the same period of year 2003. Please be informed accordingly.
