Padaeng Industry Plc (PDI) reported the resolution made at the board
of directors' meeting on May 8, 1996 to increase the company's registered
capital by Bt1,220 million to Bt2,260 million by issuing 122 million new
shares at a Bt10 par.
A total of 52 million new shares will be allocated as a rights issue
at the ratio of two old shares to one new share at Bt10 apiece.
The subscription and payment date will be from July 15-19, 1996. In
case there are any remaining shares, they will be allocated to the 17
types of institutional investors.
The register book will be closed for rights to subscribe to new
shares at noon on June 21, 1996.
The remaining 70 million shares will be allocated to other persons
(individuals or companies falling under the 17 types of investors of the
Securities and Exchange Commission announcement). The seling price and
subscription date will be determined by the company's managing director.
PDI said that the proceeds of Bt743 million from the capital
increase will be used to expand the production of zinc from 73,000 metric
tons per year to 105,000 metric tons a year. In addition, the company
will use Bt500 million to invest in Western Metals Ltd. The remaining
Bt257 million will be used as the company's working capital.
