signs MoU with Western Metals Ltd.
Padaeng Industry Plc (PDI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
with Australian-based Western Metals Ltd. on November 10, 1995 to
acquire 20% shares of the latter company's registered capital of Bt500
million.
Western Metals Ltd., a listed company on the Australian Stock
Exchange (ASX), operates a zinc mining business in Australia. Its current
mining field is located in the western part of the country such as
Cadjabut, Coongewa and Kapok. The company is now developing a large scale
mine at Blendevale field and is one of the lowest cost mining companies
in the world.
After the MoU signing, the two partners will conduct a due
dilligence which is expected to be finished by the end of December 1995.
However, the above investment must seek endorsement from PDI's board of
directors meeting.
